The Snuggie really HAS made mainstream media - online was dissing the worst fashion item of 2009 ages ago. We over them yet?

Serious 'Snuggie' aficionados have known about the kitschy cult status for months - thanks to The Morning Show and KAK infomercials and their appeal (I use that word loosely) and their charm that was quickly picked up by the on-line community.

By the way, loved seeing a couple of snuggie's (aka, a blanket with sleeves with a penchant to showing off your bum (mmm, therein lies a serious design flaw) making an appearance on the 7 Network's Dancing With the Stars last night too.

No, no, not on the dance floor - that would have been murder - but in the green room as a couple of the (not-so-good male contestants) warmed themselves up before for their routines. See, yet another fabulous use for a snuggie.

Perhaps they'll get a run as a warm-up coat at Foxtel and Nine telecasts the Vancouver Winter Olympics next February? I pray not . . .

I also just had to post the Snuggie YouTube parody again - just for a a bit of chilly Monday fun . . .

Was interested in this weekend report in Melbourne's Herald Sun about the sudden rise of popularity of the snuggie. Ah yes, but on-liner's, tweeters, facebookers and bloggers have known about their charm all along . . .

And here's the YouTube parody . . . for the very last time . . . Promise . . .

The Snuggie is taking the world by storm! Prepare for Snuggie Pub Crawls to start happening in Australia. It's just a matter of time until the Snuggie has blanketed the earth...with sleeves.

you should not, as a fashionista, be giving this item any publicity..are you on the payroll?

It's a brilliant marketing ploy! Who would have thought that people could be so easily convinced to pay to wear dressing gowns back to front? Reality TV ... Snuggies ... it seems we really do get what we deserve.
