So Suri Cruise (the cutie-pie offspring on Tom Cruise and Katies Holmes) has worn a pair of 'high' heels and a little wash of make-up? So what!
We're not talking a pair of delectable Alexander McQueen stilts, straight from the sensational shelves of shoe nirvana Cosmopolitan Shoes or a full-on drag queen made-up face.
Suri's shoes look like a relatively fail-safe and rather comfy dancing shoe to me. Yes, a 'play' shoe that she obviously loves to bits and not some confrontational killer heel that could be misconstrued as a sexy, follow-me-home heel that she pops on every day.
But of course, what we do have is a group of bah-humbug's drawing all kinds of conclusions as they use 'the shoe' as a metaphor for all of life potential threats.

Because of these horrible heels the kid will end up being scarred for life; that she has grown up before her time; that the back problems she is bound to acquire will hinder her for the rest of her life. And the list goes on.
Suri is just a child playing dress-ups for goodness sake. And whether you are young, old, tall short, dress-ups are kind of fun. She isn't looking provocative or overtly 'sexy' in a pair of teetering monstrosities. Nor is wearing fishnets and wrapping her legs around a pole in a strip club.
I love the fact some people are assuming the wearing of 'heels' could possibly lead to potentially problematic grown-up demands. Breast implants. Hair extensions. Boy, a girly magazine spread will be next. And all before the age of 10. It's all too mad.

Don't they know that recent research suggests that most females remember their first shoes as opposed to their first kiss?
Let's face it, unlike us when we're in our favorite heels, Miss Cruise wouldn't have been walking the streets trying the find a cab. If people think there is a dangerous element to her shoe-wearing, guess we can add it to all those other dangers - kids falling off skateboards; tripping over in the playground; watching too much TV.
If Suri wearing a pair of shoes with a heel is deemed bad behavior or even questionable parenting, wow, imagine the field day we and the online commentators will have when she starts dating . . .

I deplore the heels. Dressing up at home or a party is one thing, but this is regular street wear for her! I can't believe she can walk in the things, and I imagine they're doing nothing for the healthy development of her feet. I haven't even seen a pair of kids shoes like that except in a dancing class... too weird
Enough of Suri wearing heels... she seems to have totally bi-passed Clarks, crocks, Havaianas, Ecco or any European high street shoe that most 3 year olds get about in. There is plenty of time to wear high heels. Now is the time to run, climb and jump and explore the world and also their limits. How can this be done in high heels?
By the look of them, they are a dance-class pair of shoes . . a very small heel by the look of them. Perhaos she is off to a cha-cha or ballroom class? . . .
at least they are proper dance class shoes as opposed to the cheap plastic pairs of heels you see in toy stores, and if Suri wants to run, climb and jump you can bet your life she'll be kicking these heels off and doing so - they're slip ons honey - easy on, easy off!
I agree with you, Melissa!
Everyone needs to jump off the bandwagon.
Crocs are worse for children's feet than Suri's little heels. They offer no support and children trip over in them all the time. Why aren't we decrying crocs?
I agree with lilmissmc. They're better than those silly plastic heels you buy in packs of 6 from the reject shop.
She is just being a little girl, and I'm doubting that she walks kilometres in the things.
It would be like most of us and OUR heels- taxi to restaurant then back to taxi.
I think it's actually important to let your children do this at a young age. They simply want to look like mummy.
Denying them this...privilege could lead to them wanting to grow up in a more real and serious way at a young age. But by getting this out of their system they're free to develop their own tastes and personality.
Of course I'm speculating, but so are the people predicting her future ailments and psychological disorders. Leave the little dear alone.
Dance shoes have a strap across the front - these are not dance shoes, they have zero support and as you can clearly see in each shot they are ill-fitting. No one was meant to wear heels, which is why when you are still learning to walk, you wear closed in supportive shoes (which can be equally as glamorous, especially on her budget). Dance shoes are worn dancing, not in the street - no matter how many k's she's doing. Speak to any podiatrist or osteo - this footwear is NOT enhancing her posture/balance/growth in any way.
Superficially - she looks plain ridiculous...
That is all
cool blog!
in the era we live girls are not like before that looked so innocent, now ladies and try to look for that use high-heeled shoes.
Interesting and informatics blog for our babies.
Thank you for this…
jump stilts
I love the high heels, because every time that i am wearing high heels i feel very elegant and change my style of walking, i feel more womanly and sexy. Because of that i prefer to use high heels when my boyfriend buy viagra we always have a great result.
